FAQ

What is a free initial phone consultation?

It’s pretty cool.

We work on a rough cut of your vision or about that hunger you have. Then, we map out possible approaches to achieving this.

Finally, we look at whether the combination of project management and coaching can make this happen for you.

Do we talk in person or over the phone?

Although I can see you in person if our locations are close, we generally talk over the phone. That way, I can talk to you wherever you are located… even when you are out of town.

What is the best way to get in touch with you?

Call or text me at (317) 520-2777.

How long is a typical session?

50 minutes

Do I have to sign up for a certain amount of sessions?

It is usually difficult to really get traction in less than three months, so I strongly recommend starting with that. I don’t require it.

With whom do you work?

I work with people above the age of 18. I’ve worked successfully with all demographics and genders,
but I do focus on adults.

What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy is about healing what’s broken or solving a problem.

Coaching is about creating something wonderful and new.

Both are important, but they are focused on something entirely different.

What can I expect in the first session?

We will continue that vision exploration – a critically important step for any goal of any type.

We need to know exactly what “success” looks like in this endeavor, and we need to create something that excites you and pulls you forward.

If your dream isn’t exciting and energizing you, it may not be the right one for you.

What is coaching like with you?

People tell me they feel heard, supported, inspired, and challenged.

How long will coaching take?

I wish I could answer that! It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

I’ve had clients with extremely simple goals finish in a month.

Other clients with a long-term, complex goal or who want to achieve a series of goals take a year or longer.

Who benefits from your style of coaching?

Clients hungry for something who want to accomplish a goal, regardless of whether they are clear on the goal, are the ones who benefit.

Is our work confidential?

Absolutely. It is part of the coaching professional code of ethics.

How long have you been in practice?

Since 2000.

What are your strengths as a coach?

I am intuitive, compassionate, and connect the dots well.

I care about my clients and work and cheer for your success.

With my strong background in project management, we use several ways to get you where you want to go.

What do you enjoy about being a coach?

I really like people, and I like making things happen. Therefore, I love working with people, so they can achieve their dreams.

Have you been a coaching client yourself?

Absolutely! I think it’s critical as an avenue for personal growth and to personally experience what works (and sometimes what doesn’t work) in coaching.

It is hard to be an excellent coach without having experienced being coached.

Are you credentialed?

Yes, I am credentialed with the industry standard credentialing from the International Coach Federation.

I have an ACC.

Am I allowed to ask personal questions?

To an extent. The session is about you; if I have personal experience that might help, I am open to sharing it briefly.

I’ve heard coaches don’t give advice. Do you give advice?

I will never tell you what to do.

As we work together, I will present alternatives for you to consider, along with the pros and cons.

What else should I know about coaching?

If you want to get from point “A” to point “B,” then coaching can absolutely help you get there. I am biased, but I think almost anyone could benefit from a coach.

How do I learn more?

A consultation is a good place to start to see if we are a good fit for you and your dream.
