How did it get to be September? It feels like years since it was March…and it also feels like it was a blink of an eye ago.
How are you doing on your hopes for this year?
There are a number of really useful ways to move forward effectively with what you really want. However, one of the best I have found is “The 12 Week Year”. I love time management techniques, and have experimented with…let’s say quite a few of them. But this is one of the best I have used. The concept is to consider the next 12 weeks your “year”. You aren’t making resolutions for 12 months. You are creating several achievable goals for the next three. You create sub-goals for each of the three months. And you create both goals and tasks for the week. It isn’t as hard as it sounds – it takes maybe a half-hour each 12-week period and maybe minutes each week. You keep score each week of what you did versus what you planned to do. The focus at the week level, month level, and three month level makes it very difficult for things to slip. You aren’t looking way, way far out to the end of the year. You are looking to the end of the week, end of the month, and in the large, end of the three months. Text me if you’d like to chat about this – 317-520-2777.
